This is how you announce to the rest of college football that you're not messing around.
From the moment Lane Kiffin was hired by LSU, he has made it more than clear he's not in Baton Rouge to make friends and he's going to do his best to stick it to other programs. Mario Cristobal and Miami are learning this pretty dang quick.
Lane Kiffin must live up to his nickname for LSU spring ball
Moments ago, Kiffin was able to pull off a recruiting stunner, flipping 4-star Miami wide receiver commit Ah'Mari Stevens. This is surprising for several reasons. For starters, it seemed like Stevens was locked in with the Canes, but he booked a surprise visit to meet with the SEC side. On top of that, Stevens was an in-state commit for Miami, but he's no longer Coral Gables-bound for his college career.

4-star playmaker Ah'Mari Stevens has flipped his pledge from Miami to LSU
Right before this breaking news dropped, 247Sports' Gaby Urrutia reported that Miami and Cristobal decided to part ways with Stevens. The timing sure is a coincidence - from our chair, it feels like Cristobal found out Stevens took this visit and he was not happy about it, but that is yet to be confirmed.
Regardless, Stevens gave Kiffin the news he was hoping for and a message has no question been sent to Miami. According to the 247Sports Composite, the 5-11, 160-pounder is ranked four stars, the No. 42 wideout in the country and No. 334 prospect nationally for the 2027 class.
This is no question a big-time addition to the '27 haul for Kiffin, as he's now up to three known commits. Stevens is joined by fellow high school juniors Jaiden Bryant (pass-rusher) and Peyton Houston (quarterback). Kiffin is just getting started, but this latest update sure has Tigers fans pretty jacked up.
At the same time, this is pretty disappointing for the Miami faithful, as it's always going to sting when a player who suits up close to home decides to commit elsewhere. Kiffin was able to land a jab on Cristobal, and it's one that's going to sting for him for a little while.
