Lane Kiffin's ultimatum to his Ole Miss staff has a very Nick Saban feel to it

As Lane Kiffin is seemingly set to board a plane to Baton Rouge, he had a stark message for his assistants that sounded like his old boss.

As (soon-to-be former) Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin packed his bags to join the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, he reportedly gave an ultimatum to his current support staff.

While the drama continued to unfold during the seemingly unending Kiffin saga, On3 reported he had told his offensive staff that if they were planning to miss the plane ride from Oxford to Baton Rouge today, they could plan on staying at Ole Miss.

Undeniably, Kiffin's message to his staff sounded quite a bit like his former boss, the one and only Nick Saban.

Kiffin worked for Saban as the Alabama Crimson Tide's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2014-16 before heading to Florida Atlantic and eventually Ole Miss

The On3 report also said that the Tigers already had a press conference scheduled for Monday to officially announce Kiffin as the program's next head coach, even though he and the Rebels had (once again) pushed their meeting with the team to share his decision.

It shouldn't be surprising that Kiffin wants his current assistants and coordinators to follow him to Baton Rouge; he hand-picked them to work alongside him over his six years with the Rebels. Of course, he would want them to coach alongside him at LSU.

While nothing has actually been officially announced by any of the parties involved (Kiffin, Ole Miss, or LSU), it would be extremely hard to believe that anything is happening other than Kiffin to the Tigers.

Despite Kiffin's lengthy meeting with Ole Miss AD Keith Carter and the school's Chancellor yesterday evening, and a meeting with players that was originally scheduled for 9 a.m. CT, it looks like the head coach is jumping ship and heading to LSU.
