Looking to rebound LSU will get a top five-star flip target on campus
This has certainly been a rough stretch for the LSU Football team on the field and on the recruiting trail. The Tigers have lost three straight games and lost commitments from five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood to Michigan as well as four-star top-100 recruit interior offensive lineman Devin Harper to Ole Miss.
The losses have opened some holes in this recruiting class at two positions LSU needed to bring in some talent. What the decommitments have also brought is some added resources as LSU can now allocate the NIL funds they planned to give both to new players.
The Tigers aren't wasting a ton of time as they'll get five-star interior offensive lineman Solomon Thomas on campus for tonight's game against Vanderbilt.
Thomas has been firmly committed to Florida State during this season but, that changed when Mike Norvell fired offensive line coach Alex Atkins which Thomas wasn't too pleased about.
The blow for the Florida State Seminoles opened the door for LSU to work on flipping the five star recruit and now Brad Davis will get the chance to land on of his top targets. According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Thomas is the 32nd ranked player in the class, the 2nd ranked interior offensive lineman, and the 4th ranked recruit out of Florida.
The Tigers need as many offensive linemen as they can get in this recruiting class which made losing Devin Harper even more painful. The Tigers will likely lose Will Campbell, Emery Jones Jr, Miles Frazier, and Garrett Dellinger to the NFL this offseason. As we've seen in the absense of Dellinger, the Tigers back ups still need some work to become starters so adding talent at the position only helps.
A Great chance to stop the bleeding
As LSU has lost three straight games, Bryce Underwood, and Devin Harper committed recruits and opposing schools smell the blood in the water. The best thing for LSU would be getting Thomas to flip before this weekend is over as it would send a strong message to this recruiting class and the schools trying to flip LSU's commits. The Tigers have the added money to get this flip done so we'll see if they're able to do so.
