Super Bowl Sunday is almost here, as the Seattle Seahawks are set to battle the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX. In what should be a highly entertaining game to watch unfold, both rosters feature plenty of players who were once stars at the college level.
LSU Baseball already making noise as five Tigers earn Preseason All-SEC honors
Known as "NFLSU," few schools have the ability to attract, develop, and produce elite NFL talent quite like the LSU Football program. With players like Ja'Marr Chase, Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Jayden Daniels, and Malik Nabers dominating at the highest level, LSU has an extremely impressive list of NFL alumni.
When it comes to the Super Bowl, LSU seems to always be well-represented. At least one former Tiger has appeared in 25 consecutive Super Bowls, which is the longest streak in all of college football. A total of five LSU alums will suit up on Sunday for Super Bowl LX.
Five LSU alums set to take the field in Super Bowl LX
Four former Tigers are set to suit up for the Patriots, while one LSU alum will play for the Seahawks.
Patriots:
- Kayshon Boutte, WR (2020-2022)
- Will Campbell, OT (2022-2024)
- K’Lavon Chaisson, LB (2017-2019)
- Bradyn Swinson, LB (2023-2024)
Seahawks:
- Anthony Bradford, OG (2019-2022)
A sixth Tiger alum, Jaquelin Roy, is currently on IR with the Patriots and won't be able to play.
The five LSU alums suiting up on Sunday are the second-most among all college teams, trailing only Alabama with seven alums set to take the field.
Heading into Super Bowl LX, the LSU Football program boasts 50 Super Bowl winners who have won 61 total rings. Depending on the outcome of Sunday's contest, that number will increase to either 51 or 54, as all five LSU alums in Super Bowl LX would be first-time champions.
LSU's impressive Super Bowl streak began in Super Bowl XXXVI when Kevin Faulk took the field for the New England Patriots in 2002. Faulk is the only former Tiger to win three Super Bowls, as he won titles with the Patriots in 2002, 2004, and 2005. A total of 10 LSU alums have won multiple Super Bowls, with with Booger McFarland and Randall Gay as the only former Tigers to win a Super Bowl with two different teams.
