Lane Kiffin and LSU continue to pull out all the stops in an effort to land 5-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton in the transfer portal. Seaton was on campus for multiple days this week, and Kiffin even flew to Atlanta for a visit later in the week.
LSU nowhere to be found in ESPN's early 2026 College Football Playoff projections
LSU appeared to be the favorite, but Seaton also met with Oregon head coach Dan Lanning this week in Atlanta. Along with LSU and Oregon, Miami (FL) is also in the mix in his portal recruitment. But Seaton has yet to decide where he will be playing in 2026.
So as it stands, the latest update on Seaton is that...there is no update. LSU fans are growing anxious, as the battle to land his services for 2026 has gotten a bit exhausting. One LSU fan posted a comical GIF that perfectly encapsulates the situation right now.

Is LSU still the favorite to land Jordan Seaton in the transfer portal?
Earlier this week, On3's Shea Dixon said that he believes Seaton will end up in Baton Rouge. However, not getting a deal done while he was visiting LSU for multiple days is a cause for concern for Tiger fans. Meeting with Lanning also has LSU fans sweating.
There's no denying that adding Seaton to Kiffin's star-studded transfer portal class would be a massive get for the Tigers. LSU already has the top-ranked portal class in the country according to 247Sports, and adding Seaton to the mix would take the class to a whole new level of elite.
The LSU offensive line struggled mightily in 2025, which led to the offense as a whole never finding a rhythm throughout the season. The running game was unreliable, which put the Tigers in tough spots all season long. While Kiffin has added reinforcements up front, Seaton would be arguably his second-best move of the portal behind landing QB Sam Leavitt.
At this point, Tiger fans are just hoping a decision comes sooner rather than later.
