If LSU is going to reach big heights in 2025, elite production from the transfer portal class will be essential. One player who could have a big impact on the offensive side of the ball is WR Nic Anderson.

Anderson comes to Baton Rouge after two seasons at Oklahoma. He put together a strong freshman campaign in 2023, but missed nearly all of the 2024 season battling injuries. In 2023, Anderson totaled 38 receptions for 798 yards and 10 touchdowns. His name is etched in the record books in Norman, as his 10 receiving touchdowns set the Oklahoma freshman touchdown record. Furthermore, his 798 receiving yards rank No. 2 in program history for a Sooner freshman.

In what was the final season Oklahoma spent as a member of the Big 12, the Katy, Texas native was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week on two occasions. At the conclusion of that 2023 season, Anderson earned Freshman All-America honors from The Athletic.

Heading into his first season in Baton Rouge, Tiger fans are hoping Anderson can regain those elite production levels from two seasons ago.

Anderson's length and speed adds to a deep LSU WR group

The 2025 LSU wide receiver room has penty of depth. The receiving core is headlined by returnees Aaron Anderson, Zavion Thomas, Chris Hilton and Kyle Parker. Along with Nic Anderson, the incoming group of talent also includes Barion Brown and Destyn Hill.

Nic Anderson's length, speed, and versatility bring a well-rounded skill set to LSU's receiving group. He opened Fall Camp in a limited capacity, but is now back to full strength. The talented wideout figures to play a key role in LSU's passing attack this upcoming season.

It will be interesting to see which receiver becomes Garrett Nussmeier's go-to target. Nussmeier did a good job of spreading the wealth last season, as he totaled over 4,000 passing yards without having a 1,000-yard receiver. The top receiver from last year's squad was Aaron Anderson, who totaled 61 catches for 884 yards and five touchdowns. He hauled in at least 3 passes in all but one game last season, and collected a season-high 8 receptions for 100 yards in LSU's Texas Bowl win over Baylor.

LSU received high praise in the 2025 preseason coaches poll, and if this WR room exceeds expectations, the Tiger offense could be extremely dangerous.
