According to reports from On3/Rivals, LSU is finalizing an offer with Lane Kiffin that will pay him $90 million with an additional $25 million to use for the roster.

Kiffin, who is currently the head coach at Ole Miss, has been the subject of rumors for weeks. Many of these rumors have linked Kiffin to the head coaching job at Florida, but earlier this week it was reported that LSU was aggressively pursuing Kiffin and had the support to make him one of the highest paid coaches in the nation.

Kiffin, if he accepts the job, will replace Brian Kelly, who was fired on October 26, after a loss to Texas A&M. Kelly went 34-14 in four seasons with the Tigers.

This will be Kiffin's sixth head coaching job and fifth in college football. He has previously coached at Tennessee, USC, Florida Atlantic, Ole Miss and the Oakland Raiders. Kiffin is 54-19 at Ole Miss and 115-53 overall in college football. He has led the Rebels to 10-win seasons in four of his six years in Oxford.

The Lane Kiffin announcement is expected next Saturday

It was announced earlier today that Ole Miss and Kiffin agreed an announcement would be made about after next week's Egg Bowl against Mississippi State. Earlier in the week there were reports that Kiffin was given an ultimatum by the Ole Miss administration to make a choice.

If Kiffin does accept the LSU job, the likelihood is that he'll start with the Tigers immediately and will not coach the Rebels in the college football playoffs if they were to make the 12-team bracket. Ole Miss is currently ranked sixth.

Lane Kiffin's staff at LSU could be special

There have already been reports that former LSU head coach Ed Orgeron could join Kiffin's staff at LSU. Orgeron has long been considered one of the best defensive line coaches in college football and is still highly regarded as a recruiter. There would also be a major push to retain current LSU interim coach Frank Wilson, who is wildly popular with recruits and the locker room.

Despite not having a coach for nearly a month, LSU's recruiting class has stayed mostly intact and is ranked 12th overall by 247Sports. The news of Kiffin taking the job should keep that class on board and will also help the Tigers acquire players fromthe transfer portal.
