This weekend, the LSU Football team kicks off its first massive recruiting weekend of the year as the Tigers host a loaded group of recruits on campus for official visits. Over the next Month, the LSU Football program will be making an all out push on the recruiting trail before Summer camp officially begins. As things currently stand, LSU's staff is in a great place as the Tigers hold the Nation's top ranked class but, with just 9 commitments this class will be built out this summer.
While this weekend is in the focus, the Tigers will continue to stack future weekends with elite recruits coming on visits. On Thursday, the LSU Football team locked in another official visit with one of it's top recruiting targets.

The LSU Football team gets Jase Mathews on campus for one of the programs most important recruiting weekends as he'll be on campus with 5-star Lamar Brown, 4-star Boobie Feaster, 4-star Chauncey Kennon, 4-star former LSU commit JaReylan McCoy, and LSU commit Havon Finney Jr.
According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Jase Mathews is the 76th ranked recruit in the class, the 9th ranked Wide Receiver in the class, and the 4th ranked player out of Mississippi. The Tigers have already had some success in Mississippi this cycle, landing the commitment of Tristen Keys.
LSU already has a loaded class of Wide Receivers with 5-star Tristen Keys, 4-star Jabari Mack, and 4-star Kenny Darby all committed. Getting Jase Mathews in for an official visit becomes more important as Kenny Darby takes an official visit to Alabama this weekend as his recruitment is not shut down as it once was.
In the recruitment of Jase Mathews, the Tigers have a ton of competition as both In-State schools are involved as are Auburn, Texas A&M, and Miami. The official visit will reveal a ton about where LSU stands in this recruitment but, getting Mathews on campus is a massive step.
