While there's been a ton of excitement surrounding the addition of Lane Kiffin for LSU football, it doesn't mean everything has been golden. With the Early Signing Period starting on Wednesday, we're seeing some major changes with the class already.

Unfortunately, a bombshell report just dropped and it's not good for the Tigers and Kiffin. That's because 5-star defensive lineman Lamar Brown, the No. 2 prospect for the 2026 class per the 247Sports Composite, won't be signing with LSU. What?!

Brown's agent told Rivals' Sam Spiegelman that Brown indeed will not be putting the pen to paper with LSU, though he's still going to be 'committed' for the time being. Brown's future is up in the air, but the same can be said for fellow 5-star playmaker Richard Anderson, who also won't be making things official with the SEC side on Wednesday:

This is a huge development for the Tigers and it's something no one saw coming. When Kiffin first made the move over to LSU, Brown quickly met with him in his office. It seemed like he was all-in on playing for Kiffin and that he was going to be ready to run through a wall for him.

Instead, Brown had a lot of people talking on Tuesday with some social media activity that made it seem like he was not happy with the way the class was falling apart. Because of the changes that were arriving for the '26 haul, it has given both Brown and Anderson something to think about.

With the Early Signing Period open only until Friday, that means that both Anderson and Brown will have to wait until February to ink with their program of choice if they do end up delaying things. Will it end up being LSU this winter? That's very much up in the air, as the door will swing wide open for other schools to step in and work to flip them. There's no sugarcoating things here: this is awful news for Kiffin and LSU.
