LSU's 2027 recruiting class features just two commits at this time, and just one has come with Lane Kiffin at the helm of the program. Kiffin landed a commitment from 4-star EDGE Jaiden Bryant on January 3, and QB Peyton Houston committed to LSU back in September when Brian Kelly was still in Baton Rouge.

Kiffin and his staff remain on the hunt for elite 2027 talent, and are awaiting a decision from 4-star WR Quentin Hale.

Hale is ranked as the No. 7 wide receiver and the No. 55 overall player in the country for the 2027 recruiting class by 247Sports. He has drawn the interest of Power 4 programs across the country, and according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals, is expected to announce his commitment on Friday.

Standing at 6'3" and weighs 175 pounds, Hale totaled 62 catches for 872 yards and 12 touchdowns during his junior season at Cathedral High School in Corona, CA. Kiffin extended an offer to Hale on December 4, and he would be a great get for LSU's 2027 recruiting class. However, industry experts are favoring a Big Ten team in Hale's decision-making process.

Over the weekend, Rivals' Adam Gorney logged an expert prediction for Hale to commit to the USC Trojans. Gorney's predictions are hitting at a 94.12% clip, as 32 of his 34 picks have been correct.

Hale going to USC wouldn't come as a huge surprise, as he is a Southern California native and has spent ample time on USC's campus. Hale has taken a total of six unofficial visits to USC, which is the most of any team during his recruitment.

As Kiffin and his staff continues building LSU's 2027 class, they have their eyes on several electric wide receivers. Most notably, the Tigers have offered 5-star WR Monshun Hales and are trying to flip 5-star WR Easton Royal away from Texas. Royal is set to visit LSU in May, and flipping him away from the Longhorns would be a massive win for Kiffin.
