This weekend was a massive weekend in Baton Rouge for LSU on several fronts for the Tigers. The LSU Baseball team is still hosting the Baton Rouge Regional which will be decided on Monday Night against Little Rock. The LSU Football team kicked off Official Visit season with a star studded cast of recruits making their way to Baton Rouge.

Leaving a busy weekend, the following storylines stand out heading into a new week for the Tigers.

LSU Baseball faces Little Rock in "Game 7" on Monday

On Sunday Night, the LSU Baseball team had a massive chance to close out the Baton Rouge Regional against the Little Rock Trojans who they beat on Friday Night 7-0. Instead, the Tigers pitching staff walked 11 batters giving away 7 runs while the offense was unable to get the crucial hits with runners on base. The Tigers now face Little Rock once more on Monday Night with the winner facing West Virginia in Super Regionals and the losers heading home.

LSU hosts a massive group of recruits on Official Visits

This weekend was a massive recruiting weekend for the LSU Football team as the Tigers hosted a loaded group of recruits on official visits. 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho and 4-star Quarterback Bowe Bentley headlined the Tigers' visitors, and LSU seemingly made great impressions on both fronts. The days to come will reveal just how good of a weekend the Tigers had, but it was a great kickoff to a busy period of official visits.

5-star LSU Commit Tristen Keys visits Miami

When the Nation's top wide receiver, Tristen Keys, announced his commitment to LSU, the alarm bells sounded for the Tigers fanbase before they even got excited. As Keys planned to continue taking visits, it only led to more concerns for the Tigers fanbase as they flashed back to several commits who ended up flipping. Leaving his visit to Miami, Tristen Keys didn't exactly calm the concerns on the LSU side.

LSU Commit Kenny Darby visits Alabama setting "final decision" date

The weekend started with the news that LSU commit Kenny Darby would be taking an official visit to Alabama despite previously announcing that his recruitment was shut down. As the news came out that Kenny Darby would take the visit and that he had taken under the radar visits to Tuscaloosa, it was concerning for the Tigers. Now, after his visit to Alabama, Kenny Darby has announced he'll make a final decision between LSU and Alabama on July 4th.

A final decision date for a committed wide receiver is a new development on the recruiting trail which adds a strange twist to this recruitment. Keeping Kenny Darby on board is important for LSU as the Tigers already know that teams will be pushing heavily for Tristen Keys.

Jay Johnson lands first transfer for the LSU Baseball team

While the LSU Baseball season is still underway, that's never going to stop Jay Johnson from recruiting. This weekend, the LSU Baseball team made its first splash in the transfer portal landing High Point's Brayden Simpson. The Tigers are landing a massive threat at the plate as Simpson posted a .389 average and a 1.251 OPS blasting 22 Home Runs with 24 doubles, 77 RBIs, and 14 stolen bases. Simpson will slot in at third base, where he'll replace Senior Michael Braswell giving the Tigers much needed production at the position.
