Memorial Day Weekend was a busy weekend for the LSU Tigers as each staff was recruiting, freshmen moved onto campus, and LSU Baseball was finally given its path back to Omaha. The LSU Baseball team now kicks off its push for a return trip to Omaha this week in the Baton Rouge Regional. The LSU Football team is ramping up its recruiting efforts with a massive stretch of official visits which will determine how high the Tigers' class finishes.

After a busy weekend, the following stories standout from the Tigers' busy weekend on several fronts.

LSU Baseball earns the 6th overall seed in NCAA Tournament

On Monday, the NCAA Tournament bracket was unveiled as the LSU Baseball team earned the 6th overall seed. The Tigers will now get to host Regionals and Super Regionals if the team is able to survive the Baton Rouge Regional. LSU's first game comes against Arkansas Little Rock while Dallas Baptist and Rhode Island are also in the Regional.

LSU hosts elite 2027 WR and will get another high profile receiver on campus

While the 2026 recruiting class is the main focus right now, the LSU Football program will start building relationships with the top recruits in the 2027 recruiting class while hosting them on unofficial visits. This weekend, Cortez Hankton got to host the top recruit in the 2027 class Monshun Sales just weeks after he named LSU as one of the programs standing out to him.

Cortez Hankton will look to remain red hot on the recruiting trail, especially in the 2027 recruiting class as LSU already has a trio of receivers committed in the 2026 class. Hankton will get to pitch another top 2027 wide receiver in the near future as elite wide receiver Julian Caldwell will visit LSU on June 12th.

Offensive Lineman Drew Evers includes LSU in finalists' group

This weekend, elite offensive lineman Drew Evers released his final 6 schools, keeping LSU in the race in a loaded recruitment. Evers is the 218th ranked recruit in the 2026 recruiting class, the 16th ranked interior offensive lineman, and the 30th-ranked recruit out of Texas. The Tigers will quickly have the chance to improve their standing with Drew Evers as he'll be on campus this weekend for an official visit.

LSU Basketball lands its first commitment in the 2026 Recruiting Class

On Thursday, Matt McMahon and his staff landed their first commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle as the Tigers landed a commitment from Australian star Marcus Vaughns. Currently, On3 is the only program grading Vaughns listing him as a 3-star recruit but, there's plenty in his game to get excited about. As LSU brought back David Patrick and with Ronald Dupree as General Manager, the Tigers have strong ties overseas and it could start to show with how LSU recruits.

LSU Football's full Freshman class moves onto campus

While a massive portion of the LSU Football team's loaded recruiting class enrolled early to practice with the team in the Spring, several recruits were summer enrollees. As the Summer arrives, the LSU Football team got the rest of its Freshman class moved into their dorms this weekend ahead of the start of Summer camp. The Tigers have a veteran roster, so none of the late enrollees are expected to make an instant impact, but each player could work their way into a role during the season.

LSU Basketball signee Mazi Mosley arrives on campus

As LSU's football recruiting class moved onto campus, the first of LSU Basketball's signees moved into campus as Mazi Mosley made the move to Baton Rouge. Mosley is a Top 100 recruit ranked as the 85th overall recruit in the class and the 23rd ranked shooting guard which gives him a chance to make an impact early on.
