Mississippi State transfer Wide Receiver names LSU one of his four finalists
This transfer portal cycle, the one position LSU has been heavily linked to is the wide receivers. Part of that is because LSU is replacing two starting wide receivers in Kyren Lacy and CJ Daniels, the other part of that equation is receivers are attracted to LSU's ability to develop wide receivers into NFL Stars.
LSU is seemingly in the pole position to land Kentucky Wide Receiver Barion Brown who visited this week. The Tigers are also expecting to get Oklahoma transfer Nic Anderson on a visit this weekend with a chance to land the bigger bodied receiver they need on the outside.
The interest between LSU and Wide Receivers doesn't end there, as Mississippi State Wide Receiver Mario Craver has named LSU one of his final four schools.
As a True Freshman, Mario Craver caught 17 passes for 368 yards and three touchdowns averaging 21.6 yards per catch. As a recruit, Craver was ranked as the 279th ranked player overall, the 46th ranked wide receiver, and the 17th player out of Alabama in the 2024 recruiting cycle. As things currently stand, Craver is the 14th ranked wide receiver in the transfer portal and the 65th ranked player overall in this class.
Like LSU has in almost every other transfer recruitment, LSU is facing off against Texas A&M while Alabama has been very involved looking for transfer wide receivers and Florida State is always pursuing transfers.
While adding Craver would be nice, he may be a redundant part for LSU compared to some of their other targets. Craver is an explosive vertical threat that can stretch the defense, LSU already has one that'll play a ton in Chris Hilton Jr while Barion Brown can do the same thing well and LSU is heavily favored to land Brown.
The best combination for LSU remains landing Barion Brown along with either Micah Hudson and Nic Anderson.
