The LSU Football team is starting to heat up on the recruiting trail as their pursuits of stars are starting to result in visits and even predictions that players will land at LSU. The Tigers are currently expected to land Florida Gators cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson and Kentucky Wide Receiver Barion Brown.
The Tigers have a top priority at wide receiver as they need to replace leading Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy and Starting Wide Receiver CJ Daniels. Given that LSU gets an elite passer back in Garrett Nussmeier its important to surround him with weapons before LSU needs to break in a new quarterback.
The latest pursuit for LSU is Wide Receiver Nic Anderson who's transferring from the Oklahoma Sooners. The Tigers now have a visit set with Nic Anderson as he's set to visit LSU in the coming days.
When Anderson was healthy in 2023, he recorded 38 catches for 798 yards and ten touchdowns in his first year of playing time. This season, Anderson did not play as he dealt with a "significant quad tear" which was disappointing as he was expected to explode in his second season.
The Tigers are seemingly up against Texas A&M who's seemingly involved with every wide receiver in the transfer portal.
While LSU is the clear front runner for Kentucky Transfer Barion Brown, landing a player like Nic Anderson is still a top priority. In a lineup of Barion Brown, Aaron Anderson, Zavion Thomas, Kyle Parker, and Chris Hilton Jr LSU would be lacking an outside wide receiver with size. Nic Anderson's 6 Foot 4 frame would instanly solve that issue further elevating LSU's ceiling on offense giving the Tigers a guy that can be the big target in the redzone.
We'll have to wait and see if LSU reels in Barion Brown and how Nic Anderson's visit goes but, getting Garrett Nussmeier back gives LSU the quarterback it can pitch elite wide receivers on playing with.
