EA College Football 25 simulation predicts a much closer game than expected for LSU
The LSU Football team returns home to take on the UCLA Bruins in an afternoon game in Death Valley. The 2-1 Tigers are expected to dominate the UCLA Bruins who are coming off of a blowout loss to an impressive Indiana team. For an idea on how the game may play out, we simulated a game of EA Sports' College Football 25 between the two teams.
The game started off slow in the simulation with LSU trailing 7-0 early before Garrett Nussmeier found CJ Daniels on a 71 yard touchdown to tie the game at 7. The second quarter was a battle of field goals as LSU picked up six points on two Damian Ramos field goals while UCLA scored three points of their own sending LSU into the half up 13-10.
LSU would push their lead to six on yet another Damian Ramos field goal but, Ethan Garbers would break off a 41 yard run to put UCLA up 17-16 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Bruins would strike first in the fourt scoring on a forty yard field goal but, LSU would take a 23-20 lead on another touchdown to CJ Daniels with 1:30 left in the game. LSU would get the last-minute stop escaping a near disaster winning 23-20.
If the game plays out similar to the simulation, we'll leave this game feeling pretty bad about where the LSU Football team stands. The Tigers didn't force any takeaways or sack Ethan Garbers which would be a major red flag in the actual game.
On offense, Garrett Nussmeier finished the game 14 of 27 for 213 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The rushing game was improved again as the Tigers combined for 100 yards on 23 carries averaging 4.35 yards per carry. The simulation does predict the coming out party for CJ Daniels as he finished with six catches for 115 yards and a pair of scores.
The game will play out much differently
After some of the defensive performances we've seen from recent LSU teams, holding a team to 20 points would be a much-welcomed score if it wasn't against UCLA. If the Tigers can't force a turnover against this team it's in serious trouble and especially if they can't record a sack. On offense, the Tigers will do much better than 213 yards through the air as this defense showed some cracks against Indiana.
