After a disappointing end to the LSU women's basketball team's title defense, Kim Mulkey immediately got to work on rebuilding the program. Tasked with replacing Angel Reese and Hailey Van Lith, Mulkey brought in four transfers Jersey Wolfenbarger, Kailyn Gilbert, Mjracle Sheppard, and Shayeann Day-Wilson. They'll join prized recruit Jada Richard in rebuilding the team for the 2024-25 season as LSU looks to return to the peak of the sport.

Now that Kim Mulkey has her roster set for next season she has already started making a massive push for 2024-25. The LSU Tigers are hosting 5-star Guard Aaliyah Chavez on a visit today as Kim Mulkey continues to push for Chavez. The 5"10 guard is the Nation's top recruit and not only is she the top recruit in the class but, she's the only player with 5-Star status so far.

Landing Aaliyah Chavez would be massive for Kim Mulkey and her program as they'd get four years out of one of the Nation's best scorers. Continuity is key for a guard in Kim Mulkey's system as we saw Hailey Van Lith struggle with picking up the new system.

If Aaliyah Chavez commits to LSU she'd join highly touted recruit Bella Hines who committed to Mulkey and LSU in April of 2024.

Time to retake the South Eastern Conference

Over the past few seasons, Dawn Staley's South Carolina Gamecocks have emerged as the team to beat in the SEC as they've lost just three games in the regular season while winning two national championships. The LSU Tigers have a coach capable of becoming the next powerhouse in College Basketball and with the right class of recruits, the team could easily become the power in college basketball.
