The recruiting season is about to ramp up for the LSU Basketball team as recruits across the country are preparing to ramp up their recruitment. This year, Matt McMahon will look to build upon his success last year on the recruiting trail to build a long-term winner. Early on, LSU is yet to land a commitment however, many of the top schools have yet to land a commitment.

The LSU Basketball team is one of the finalist for one of the Nation's top recruits Center Jaden Toombs. The Big man will choose between Alabama, Miami, Texas Tech, SMU, and LSU.

This marks the third top fifty recruit that has named the LSU basketball team as a finalist in the past week along with Guards King Grace and Nyk Lewis. The LSU Tigers are also the front runner for On3's sixth ranked recruit Chris Cenac who is a New Orleans native.

The LSU Basketball team still has work to do with Jaden Toombs as they don't have an official visit set with the big man yet. Where LSU does stand out is with the fact that the Tigers were one of the first schools to offer Toombs and have kept up the relationship. LSU also is perfectly fine without an official visit set yet, as Toombs has only visited Texas Tech.

This LSU Basketball class hinges on one recruit

Matt McMahon could land a quality group of recruits across the board but, this class needs to bring a superstar to LSU. This makes landing New Orleans native Chris Cenac arguably the biggest recruitment of his career. This is the highest-rated recruit to come out of Louisiana since Mitchell Robinson in the 2017 recruiting class. Talents in your backyard like Cenac don't show up often which makes bringing him in massive.
