Oddsmakers have high exceptions for LSU football in 2024. Early betting lines favor the Tigers in two of their biggest games next season.

In Brian Kelly's tenure, LSU football has not succeeded in Week 1 marquee kick-off games. But one sports book strongly believes such will change in 2024. According to FanDuel's early SEC betting odds, the Tigers are whipping six-point favorites to beat the USC Trojans on September 1.
LSU -6 over USC is a bold prediction, considering the Tigers will feature a new starting quarterback and massive changes on defense this season. Conversely, Lincoln Riley's team is experiencing the same dynamic on the West Coast. But Vegas is telling fans it views Brian Kelly's roster as the more talented bunch.
Ironically, LSU vs. USC will play at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Another game LSU football fans have circled on the calendar is November 9 against Alabama. As such, FanDuel's early SEC betting odds list the Tigers as 2.5-point favorites to roll the Crimson Tide.
LSU football being favored to beat Alabama is unsurprising, but -1.5 feels more realistic. Jalen Milroe returns to Tuscaloosa as the starter, and despite the hefty turnover caused by Nick Saban's retirement, the Tide's roster remains immensely talented. Then again, LSU will benefit from playing at Tiger Stadium, and we expect Death Valley to be raucous.

The college football season is over eight months away, but the sportsbooks want fans to place their futures bets now. One method is to release early betting odds incrementally. In addition to odds for some of college football's biggest 2024 games, FanDuel released early betting odds for regular season win totals and the Heisman Trophy.
Many LSU football fans scoff at looking so far ahead, especially betting odds. But I enjoy any mechanism that triggers a college football debate. I also look forward to FanDuel releasing the full betting odds slate for the Tigers' schedule.
