The LSU Football team is in the midst of a busy week on the recruiting trail landing five-star DJ Pickett while entering Saturday with the chance to land two top-100 recruits. The Tigers have kicked off the day in a massive way landing one of the Nation's top wide receiver recruits Derek Meadows.

The Tigers landed Derek Meadows over Notre Dame, Alabama, and Michigan with Notre Dame being the biggest competitor. The Tigers made up a ton of ground in this recruitment as Meadows looked like a Notre Dame lock for the majority of his commitment until the Tigers hosted Meadows on an official visit this Summer.

Meadows is ranked as the 41st-ranked player in this class, the seventh-ranked receiver, and the top player out of Nevada. Most of the recruiting rankings list Meadows as a four-star recruit but, 24/7 Sports ranks Meadows as a five-star Landing Meadows helps bring LSU's third ranked recruiting class closer to Ohio State and Alabama as Meadows is the highest rated LSU Commit outside of the five-star trio of Underwood, Berry, and Pickett.

The Tigers now have an elite pair of receivers in this recruiting class as Derek Meadows joins Louisiana Native TaRon Francis. After the Tigers lost out on Dakorien Moore, wide receiver became one of the biggest needs and it became very important that the Tigers landed an elite player at the receiver position.

Derek Meadows has all the traits of a star receiver

LSU will have to finish this recruitment off as Early Signing Day is nearly half a year away but, if the Tigers get Derek Meadows on campus there is a ton to be excited about. Meadows is a monster listed at 6 foot 6 inches which will make him a massive target for quarterbacks like Bryce Underwood. Despite his size, Meadows has elite speed paired with solid route running which makes him one of the hardest players to guard in this recruiting class.
