The recruiting dead period officially ends this week on July 25th after beginning last month on June 25th. College Football teams across the country will host one final massive weekend of recruits prior to the start of Fall camps the following week. The LSU Football team is set to host a ton of recruits with the list of players still in progress at their yearly Bayou Splash Event.

What is Bayou Splash?

Bayou Splash is an annual event that the LSU Football program hosts with recruits from across the country and across multiple recruiting classes coming to Baton Rouge. LSU puts on a massive pool party with incredible food, competitive games, and it gives the staff another chance to build relationships with top recruiting talents.

How did LSU fair with Bayou Splash last year?

Last season, the Bayou Splash event was massive for LSU helping the Tigers land several targets in the 2024, 2025, and 2026 recruiting classes. From the 2024 recruiting class, LSU landed star running back Caden Durham, Dominick McKinley, Tylen Singleton, and it helped the Tigers flip Jo Cryer who transferred this Spring. The 2025 class had Bryce Underwood and Harlem Berry who headline LSU's recruiting efforts.

Who's expected this year?

It is early in the week however, several recruits have announced plans to attend Bayou Splash but, in the recruiting world things can change quickly. Helping the coaching staff in recruiting will be Bryce Underwood, Damien Shanklin, Zion Williams, Charles Ross, Jesse Harrold, and other who will likely confirm in the days to come.

In terms of recruiting targets, there will be no shortage of talent on campus especially as LSU expects other recruits who have yet to set their plans in stone. The in-state recruits to follow this weekend are Aidan Anding and 2026 targets Jabari Mack, Lamar Brown, Aiden Hall, Brysten Martinez, Blaine Bradford, and Jahkeem Stewart among others.

Massive Weekend for building relationships

This weekend may not result in a flurry of commitments but, it could be massive for LSU's recruiting efforts, especially in the 2026 recruiting cycle. Last year this event led to LSU landing pieces like Bryce Underwood, Harlem Berry, and for a brief period Dakorien Moore. The state of Louisiana has produced arguably the best group of talent in the 2026 recruiting class and weekends like this upcoming one are crucial for keeping them in state.
