The LSU Football program had an incredible July on the recruiting trail and thus far they've carried the momentum into August. Earlier this month, LSU landed in-state star Aiden Hall a top 50 recruit in the 2026 recruiting class.

The LSU Football program has continued its hot streak landing 2025 recruit CJ Jimcoily over Alabama, Stanford, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Michigan.

On3's industry rankings have Jimcoily as the 36th best safety in the country, the 389th ranked player in the country, and as the 13th ranked recruit out of Tennessee.

LSU needed a second safety commitment in the class alongside Jhase Thomas and now they have one after landing Jimcoily who was one of the top five safeties that wasn't committed. As LSU looks to bring back its strong defensive identity they're laying a solid foundation on the recruiting trail. As things currently stand LSU will bring in DJ Pickett, CJ Jimcoily, Jhase Thomas, and Charles Ross who is listed as a linebacker but, could fit the Jamal Adams mold.

This commitment could have an interesting impact on recruiting

The LSU Football team needed another defensive back and they landed it in Jimcoily who the staff has pushed for for months. The interesting part will be whether or not this may hurt LSU's chances with some of their other safety targets. The Tigers will have a hat on the table for two-sport star and five-star safety Jonah Williams, and Four-Star safety Bryce Fitzgerald who are two players LSU has made a massive late push for.
