For years, the topic of Nick Saban was very touchy for LSU Football fans as he led Alabama to six National Championships. It was tough to see Saban at Alabama and tough to hate him given his success at LSU and how he set Les Miles up for success with the 2007 National Championship team.

This past week, Mark Ingram, Urban Meyer, and Rob Stone launched a Podcast called the Triple Option where they discuss everything going on in College Football. They landed a great first guest too as they had Nick Saban on to talk shop.

During the Podcast, Mark Ingram asked his former Head Coach which of his seven National Titles stuck out to him as his favorite. Mind you, Saban won six National Championships at Alabama to just one at LSU and given Mark Ingram is a co-host he easily could've said 2009.

"I think the first one obviously was at LSU in 2003."

Mark Ingram interjected upset before we could hear Saban go into full detail about that team but, he later followed up talking about why the 2003 Championship and the 2009 title at Alabama mean the most to him.

"The reason those two firsts probably are the ones that resonate the most for me is what I mentioned before is that all those guys came to the program when the program wasn't really successful. It's a lot more meaningful when all these players came to try and prove something and work their butt off to make it happen."

Nick Saban is showing he still loves LSU in retirement

Ever since he retired, all Nick Saban has done is speak glowingly about the LSU Football Program. On ESPN's College Gameday, Nick Saban put the LSU Football team as the 11th seed in his College Football Playoff prediction. He also spoke about how Garrett Nussmeier is a serious sleeper and how LSU will be perfectly fine at Wide Receiver. I have to say, no longer having Nick Saban as a mortal enemy is enjoyable thus far.
