It's been heavily talked about this off-season that the LSU Football team will look plenty different this season. This was well known going from a dynamic quarterback in Jayden Daniels to a pocket passer in Garrett Nussmeier but, it's also due to losing playmakers on the outside in Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr.

This summer the standout position group has been tight end where Mason Taylor has looked like his typical self while Ka'Morreun Pimpton and Trey'Dez Green continue to look more explosive each day. On the outside, Kyren Lacy continues to look like the next first round receiver as he continues to dominate in camp.

Brian Kelly clearly notices how well his tight ends have played as he said the following after Saturday's practice:

The use of 12 personnel will allow LSU to likely play Taylor and Pimpton while 13 personnel will allow Green to get on the field alongside them. This group would be dominant in the redzone as you bring in linebackers to stop the run and they'll beat you with the pass while if you bring in defensive backs for coverage they'll dominate you in the running game.

This news must feel great for the running backs like Kaleb Jackson hoping to make explosive plays. Not only will the backs get to run behind the best tackle duo in the sport but, they'll have athletic freaks getting out into space to spring the backs for massive plays.

The best way to bring the receivers along early on

To start the season, LSU's receivers may not be fully ready to step up which makes leaning on the tight ends perfectly. The Tigers are facing a defense that is known to be soft which makes it all the more enticing to stack the offensive line and lean on the defense. If the receivers and Garrett Nussmeier aren't fully ready week one it makes a ton of sense to just punch USC in the mouth every play until they give in.
