Winner - Kalen DeBoer

When Nick Saban took the Alabama job, the expectations were always going to be high for the next head coach. Pairing the fact that DeBoer's classes at Washington underwhelmed with never coaching in the SEC many expected that Alabama would take a step back on the recruiting trail. Thus far, Alabama may be recruiting at a higher level than they did under Nick Saban holding the Nation's second ranked recruiting class with 20 commitments thus far. DeBoer is positioned well to land one of the Nation's top three recruiting classes which would be a massive statement in year one.

Loser - Sam Pittman

When you are a coach on the hot seat, one of the best things you can do to save your job is bring in an elite group of talent that will make it hard to fire you. Sam Pittman however, has the Nation's 39th ranked recruiting class which ranks 14th in the SEC. It gets harder when you can't win recruiting battles in your backyard as Pittman has lost top recruit Carius Curne to LSU while Marcus Wimberly is headed to Oklahoma and Omarion Robinson may join him. If Pittman can't recruit in-state and he posts another poor start to the season we may see a new head coach in Fayetteville.
