The LSU Football team has followed up what was an unbelievable July on the recruiting trail with a red hot start to August. The Tigers have already landed a commitment from top 50 recruit in the 2026 class Aiden Hall and landed four-star safety CJ Jimcoily on Thursday. The Tigers hold the Nation's third-ranked recruiting class and are actively biting at the heels of Alabama for the Nation's second ranked class.

The LSU Football team may land another key piece to this recruiting class on Friday as wide receiver Phillip Wright posted the following to his Instagram:

The Tigers could potentially land Phillip Wright as soon as tomorrow if he's announcing his commitment. The recruitment of Wright has been a whirlwind as LSU jumped in a little too late leading to Wright committing to Michigan on July 13th. The Tigers then ramped up their push for Wright hosting him at Bayou Splash and they saw him de-commit on Sunday Night.

Wright is ranked by On3's industry rankings as the 422nd best player in the country, the 69th ranked wide receiver, and the 12th ranked receiver in Louisiana. Landing Wright would give LSU commitments from eight of the fourteen highest rated players in the state while the Tiger push to add another commitment from Jacob Bradford the 11th ranked player in the state.

Destrehan has been one of the most important schools in Louisiana as its been a pipeline for LSU Head Coaches. The High School has produced Justin, Jordan, and Rickey Jefferson, John Emery Jr, Kolaj Cobbins, and current LSU commit Jhase Thomas among other stars.

Brian Kelly's dominance on the home front bodes well for 2026 Class

As things currently stand in the 2025 recruiting class, LSU holds commitments from six of the top ten players in the state while in 2024 LSU signed nine of the top ten. If Brian Kelly continues his dominance with the 2026 recruiting class, LSU could easily finish with one of the highest ranked classes in school history. The 2026 Louisiana recruiting class has two five stars and six top 100 recruits. Brian Kelly has already landed 51st ranked recruit Aiden Hall and four-star defensive tackle Richard Anderson as he looks to continue to build the 2026 recruiting class.
