Three Players on LSU's Offense to Watch Versus South Alabama
This weekend, LSU takes on a fascinating opponent as the Tigers will face a red hot South Alabama Jaguars team. The LSU Football team should treat this game as they would an SEC opponent to avoid a potential massive upset while also getting the reserves in as soon as possible. The LSU offense has a chance to put any game out of reach in a flash and the Tigers could do so with contributions from these three players.
Kyle Parker - Wide Receiver
While everyone has been awaiting the return of Chris Hilton Jr, another wide receiver has gone under the radar. When Hilton was ruled out vs USC, the receiver that started wasn't Aaron Anderson but, it was Kyle Parker. Unfortunately for Parker, he suffered an injury on his lone catch versus the Trojans that knocked him out of the lineup for a few games.
This weekend, Kyle Parker proved exactly why Kelly started him in the first game of the year as he caught a beautiful deep ball from Garrett Nussmeier and muscled his way into the endzone for a 45 yard touchdown.
All Brian Kelly has done is rave about what Kyle Parker has done throughout the Spring and Summer. Now that Parker has started to prove himself on the field we should see him in action again this weekend especially with his big play ability.
Caden Durham - Running Back
This weekend, Caden Durham got far less carries than anyone would have expected after his breakout game against South Carolina. Against UCLA, Caden Durham only got six carries and he didn't do too much with is rushing for 14 yards. Where Durham did make a massive impact was as a receiving back catching two passes for forty yards including a 35 yard touchdown.
This weekend, we should see another game where Durham touches the ball at least ten times whether its on carries or screen passes. When Durham enters the game, he's a change of pace from Josh Williams and Kaleb Jackson and he should provide the Tigers a boost as a receiver again.
Trey'Dez Green - Tight End
The entire Summer we heard about the breakout of True Freshman Trey'Dez Green who the Tigers landed as a five star recruit. Through the first four games, LSU has tried to incorporate Trey'Dez Green but, he hasn't been fully integrated into the offense. The Tigers have used him though and he's caught two passes for ten yards and a touchdown which is a good sign they'll continue to work him in.
If LSU is able to get an early lead on South Alabama, we should see Green continue to work into the rotation. As LSU continues to build Green up, he could start to provide the Tigers a ton of upside in this offense. At 6"7, Green is a matchup nightmare and could be a massive boost in the redzone where LSU has struggled at points this season.
