The priority for the LSU Football Program now is to keep its recruiting class intact

This season won't result in a SEC Championship, a College Football Playoff appearance, or a National Title as all three became officially impossible on Saturday. This season has been a rollercoaster starting with the lowest of lows losing the season opener again before excitement was built up reaching its peak when LSU beat Ole Miss and we've now reached rock bottom with LSU losing three straight games.

This season has proven a few things but, the overall point is that LSU is lacking the top end talent it needs to be a true playoff contender. Against USC it was a lack of Offensive Difference makers and the lack of a run game, against Texas A&M it was the lack of speedy defenders, against Alabama it was a lack of talent everywhere, and against Florida it was more of the same.

The Early Signing Period opens on December 4th which is when a majority of the recruits will sign with their schools. As Signing Day is right around the corner the biggest priority for LSU is now keeping this recruiting class intact especially some of the key pieces.

The offense hasn't looked the same this season without a dual threat quarterback making plays with his legs. Getting Bryce Underwood would give LSU that dual threat quarterback who can mask protection breakdowns and will open things up in the run game because teams will respect him on zone reads.

The defense got beat badly by Elijhah Badger who caught six passes for 131 yards and a touchdown. Getting a five-star cornerback like DJ Pickett onto campus will help with the issues in the secondary as will landing the other two elite cornerbacks in LSU's class Kade Phillips and Aidan Anding. We've talked a ton about the development players have made under Corey Raymond but, this is the first group of players Raymond will bring to LSU.

The Tigers controlled the ball the entire game but, couldn't punch the ball in for touchdowns when they got into the redzone. Keeping Derek Meadows in this class will give LSU a top-100 recruit at receiver and his massive frame makes him an incredible redzone target. In TaRon Francis and Phillip Wright LSU is getting two Louisiana Natives at receiver which has alway been where LSU finds the most success.

All season long LSU has struggled with finding consistency in the run game especially with making big plays. Add the Nation's top running back Harlem Berry into the mix and he could make an impact like Caden Durham has in year one, while JT Lindsey is a sleeper in this class but, his incredible Senior Season shows he can do the same.

LSU has struggled on the interior of the offensive line and losing Garrett Dellinger and Miles Frazier will only make that issue worse. Keeping Carius Curne and Tyler Miller in this class gives LSU two players that can fill those voids in year one on campus.

The speed of the linebackers being an issue was on full display as Marcel Reed and Jalen Milroe ran through LSU's defense with ease. Add in two elite linebackers in Keylan Moses and Charles Ross and you have two guys who can start in place of Greg Penn III in year one.

While Coaching hasn't been great LSU is missing those guys

When you look at the LSU Football team, this team is clearly lacking those guys that can go out and win you a game on their own like Jayden Daniels, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr. Great talent can mask issues everywhere else and that's why landing the top end recruits in this class is so important. As it becomes clearer that LSU needs some top end talent, maybe the staff steps up their game and the Tigers match or beat some of the other NIL offers landing a few more big pieces to this class.
