Sunday turned out to be a milestone weekend for Lane Kiffin's Class of 2027 as five-star TE Ahmad Hudson finalized his commitment to LSU.

Kiffin is surely celebrating, but basketball head coach Will Wade might be joining him too, and he might be the one celebrating harder.

The tranfer portal hasn't been very kind to Wade, to put it very mildly. The LSU basketball coach has locked in just 2 transfers so far, and one of them is from Italy and a pickk of the Caviliers.

In other words, Wade needs players to reach a functional roster count, let alone consider recruiting massive 5-star talents. He can't put the cart before the horse.

Ahmad Hudson can play for LSU basketball as well

But with, Hudson, he technically can.

Hudson isn't just the No. 1 TE in class of 2027, and the No. 16 player overall.

The 6-foot-6, 230-pounder also doubles as an elite basketball recruit. He’s currently the No. 25 prospect and No. 4 center in the nation.

Given the circumstances, Hudson can consider playing on the hardwood as well. If he does, it would be the blessing in disguise Wade desperately needed.

On the football side, Kiffin gets the heir apparent to Trey'Dez Green with all the 2027 NFL Draft buzz gaining traction around him. On basketball, he could be the lifeline that Wade's squad depends on if he fails to secure more commits, or any major commits like this this offseason.

If Wade does go with it, clearly it will be a bigger win for Wade than for Kiffin.
