Some extra drama surrounding LSU now that Lane Kiffin is running the show? Sure, why the heck not. With the early Signing Period here, breaking news arrived that 5-star defensive line commits Lamar Brown and Richard Anderson weren't going to sign with the Tigers.

New recruiting rankings further prove Lane Kiffin is turning things around for LSU

That's no longer the case for one of them. On Thursday, a huge update arrived for Kiffin and the Tigers, with Anderson officially putting the pen to paper with the SEC powerhouse. While people are still a bit nervous about what might happen with Brown, getting Anderson locked in is huge for Kiffin and his new staff:

5-star DL Richard Anderson has officially signed with LSU and Lane Kiffin

One down and one to go for the Tigers. While yes, everyone is waiting to see what Brown does, the fact that Anderson has signed is a huge relief. If anything, it has people hopeful that Brown will follow suit, as the two have the same agent.

As for Anderson, he surely has people all over Baton Rouge pretty excited right now, as he's headed to SEC country with a ton of hype surrounding his name. According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-4, 340-pounder is ranked five stars, the No. 1 defensive lineman in the country and No. 29 prospect overall for the 2026 class.

Throughout his recruitment, the new Tiger picked up 24 offers, taking official visits to LSU and Texas. When he delayed signing on Wednesday, countless LSU fans were overcome with worry that he'd potentially either suit up for a different team or delay things to February.

That's luckily not going to be the case, as Anderson is going to be ready to be a stud for Kiffin now that his recruitment is officially over with. The focus shifts to Brown, who has until Friday to make things official during the Early Signing Period. Will he wait until the winter instead? We'll find out soon enough.
