This past week was a massive week for the LSU Football program on the recruiting trail. The Tigers picked up commitments at two positions of need landing tight end Mike Tyler while flipping elite four-star cornerback Kade Phillips from Texas. The Tigers currently hold the Nation's third-ranked recruiting class and with how often Alabama keeps losing commitments the Tigers could be in second any moment now.

The LSU Football team now has 24 commits on board meaning there may not be too much work left to do in this recruiting class. The Tigers would still like to add a cornerback or two as well as a safety as the defense looks to rebuild "DBU" under Corey Raymond. The date that LSU could truly finish off this class with a home run is on August 24th.

Leading off the day will be Ruston cornerback Aidan Anding whom the Tigers have been heavily pursuing for some time now. Anding is ranked by On3 as the 31st ranked cornerback in the country and as the 12th-ranked player in Louisiana. This will be another matchup between Texas and LSU while Arkansas is in the picture but, this feels like LSU has all of the momentum.

Capping off the night will be the commitment announcement from Jonah Williams one of this recruiting classes Crown Jewels. Williams is one of the best baseball recruits in the country while On3's Industry Recruiting rankings ranks Williams as the 10th best player in the class and the top safety in the class. Oregon feels like the current favorite for Williams but, if baseball is truly a factor, LSU will have a serious chance at landing him. At one point in time it felt like the Tigers led but, a missed visit for Bayou Splash has this recruitment up in the air.

Would be one of the best defensive back classes in LSU history

If LSU is able to sweep on August 24th, this would go down as the greatest defensive back class ever brought in at LSU. The Tigers for starters would end with the top-ranked cornerback and safety with DJ Pickett and Jonah Williams in the class a feat rarely achieved. Add in impressive lengthy defensive backs like Kade Phillips, Jhase Thomas, CJ Jimcoily, and Anding and LSU would have some impressive versatility in this recruiting class.
