The LSU Football program is one of the most storied football programs in college football history. Along with their four National Championships and 16 Conference Championships, the LSU Football program has a ton of awards they're proud of. Here is the last time the LSU Football program had a player who won one of the National College Football Major Awards.

Heisman: 2023 Jayden Daniels

The LSU Football team has had three Heisman Trophy winners in program history with Billy Cannon, Joe Burrow, and Jayden Daniels. This past season the play of Jayden Daniels was incredible leading the Tigers in rushing and passing helping LSU overcome an awful defensive season.

Davey O'Brien Award: 2023 Jayden Daniels

The LSU Football program has had two players take home the Davey O'Brien Award with Jayden Daniels in 2023 and Joe Burrow in 2019. The Award has become a Quarterback only award giving Garrett Nussmeier the chance to win it in 2024.

Doak Walker Award: Never

Considering the incredible list of running backs to wear the LSU uniform, the Tigers have never had a player that brought home the Doak Walker Award. In fairness to LSU, the award was founded in 1990 so it's fair to say that Billy Cannon at least would have won when he brought home the Heisman Trophy.

Biletnikoff Award: 2019 Ja'Marr Chase

The year marker should read 2023 Malik Nabers but, Marvin Harrison Jr was given the award in the biggest robbery since the Great Train Robbery. In 2019, Ja'Marr Chase did bring the award home while Josh Reed gave LSU its first winner in 2001. Chase winning the award as a Sophomore makes it more upsetting that he opted out of the 2020 season as he could've had an incredible year.

John Mackey Award: Never

The LSU Football program has never had a tight end win the John Mackey Award which was first awarded in 2000. The Tigers will have one of the front runners for the award in Mason Taylor with Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr no longer dominating the targets.

Rimington Trophy: 2004 Ben Wilkerson

Despite consistently having impressive offensive lines, you have to go back twenty years to find the last time an LSU center brought home the Rimington Trophy.

Outland Trophy: 2007 Glenn Dorsey

The Outland Trophy given to the Nation's top interior lineman has only seen one LSU Tiger bring the award home. Glenn Dorsey is easily one of the most decorated athletes in college history winning the Outland, Nagurski, Lombardi, and Lott Awards in one season which all finish somewhere behind the National Championship he brought home that season.

Bronko Nagurski Trophy: 2007 Glenn Dorsey

Despite boasting some of the greatest defenders in College Football History LSU has only had one Bronko Nagurski Winner. Glenn Dorsey brought the Award home in 2007 with 179 total tackles, seven sacks, 12.5 tackles for a loss, and a forced fumble. Entering the season, Harold Perkins will likely be one of the favorites to bring home the award.

Butkus Award: 2018 Devin White

Devin White is the only LSU Tiger to bring home the Award given to College Football's best linebacker. White brought the Award home with 123 total tackles, 12 tackles for a loss, three sacks, and three forced fumbles. Like many of the defensive awards, Harold Perkins should enter the season as one of the front runners for the Award.

Jim Thorpe Award: 2011 Morris Claiborne

The LSU Football Program is Defensive Back University bringing home two Jim Thorpe Awards. LSU went back to back in 2010 and 2011 with Patrick Peterson bringing it home first followed by Morris Claiborne in 2011.

Paul Hornung Award: 2013 Odell Beckham Jr

The Award given to College Football's most versatile player was founded in 2010 and first given to LSU in 2013 when Odell Beckham Jr won the Award. Beckham was incredible as a returner averaging 26.4 yards per kick return totaling 845 yards while recording 1,152 yards as a receiver.

Lou Groza Award: Never

The LSU Football program has never brought home either of the special teams awards which is surprising at kicker. Cade York likely was LSU's best candidate but, missed extra points likely cost him a shot at the Award despite holding several LSU records.

Ray Guy Award: Never

Despite having some impressive Punters in the past the LSU football team has never had a punter win the Ray Guy Award. In all honesty, LSU should hope it never punts enough to feel that they were snubbed in a Ray Guy Award race.
